Mastectomy |
Mastectomy It is very important when you are looking into buying prosthetics that full research is done on all products and brands available. Prosthetics are designed to look and feel as natural as possible. We offer 11 different shapes available. Each shape is available in up to 28 different sizes, allowing you to get a look almost as perfect as your original shape and size. It is important to get professional help when fitting prosthetics, as not having the correct fit can result in an uncomfortable and heavy feeling prosthesis, putting pressure on the neck and shoulders. |

An ill fitting prosthetic not only looks and feels uncomfortable; clothing will pull to the natural side, giving an uneven look. When fitting prosthetics, try choosing a bra style that is preferably non-wired and that has a slightly fuller structure. This is to ensure a feeling of security and also prevents wire from sitting on any scarring. With time, one can move on to lesser structures, but firstly it is just to get used to the fit and the feel of the prosthetics. The prosthesis all come with cotton covers, but it is a personal choice whether to use them or not. It is recommended to sew a cotton Lycra pocket into the bra to prevent the prosthesis from shifting around and falling out. Storm in A-G Cup will sew pockets into your existing bras as well as the bras purchased from us, for a cost of R20 per pocket. Note: Prosthetics need to be fitted, therefore we suggest only repeat orders be purchased online. |
